Privacy policy for the Lani app

  1. Introduction

    Welcome to Lani. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and want you to feel safe when using our app. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to your data.

  3. Collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of its use

    1. User account and login
      To use the app, you must create a user account. You can log in via Apple, Google or via an email address in combination with a one-time password (OTP). As part of the registration process, we save the email address used.
    2. Generated content
      In the app, you can create bedtime stories based on prompts you define. These stories are also saved and assigned to you.
    3. Analysis and tracking
      To improve our app, we use Firebase Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. Firebase Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse your use of our app. The information obtained about your use of this app is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We have activated IP anonymisation so that your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

  4. Storage of the data

    All data collected is stored in Firestore, a Google service. The servers on which the data is stored are located within the European Union.

  5. Disclosure of data to third parties

    We only pass on your personal data to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract, if we are legally obliged to do so or if you have given your prior consent.

  6. Your rights

    You have the right:
    • in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, to request information about your personal data processed by us,
    • in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to immediately request the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us,
    • to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR,
    • to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR,
    • in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request that it be transmitted to another controller,
    • in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, to revoke your consent once given to us at any time,
    • to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.

  7. Data security

    We use suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons.

  8. Changes to this privacy policy

    We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy in order to ensure that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy.
